In response to the current health crisis of the world today, Ahsa Life has employed some innovative measures to help school going children from poor homes in the rural areas of Ghana to keep physically active and learning as schools remained closed. Through this, the organization’s positive impacts on the lives of many poor homes has been remarkable among many.
Ahsa Life has moved into various rural areas to support students who have been traumatized by the global crisis of COVID-19. In the village of Subriso, Ahsa Life donated story books, exercise and note books, boxes of pens and pencils, sketch pads, and boxes of erasers to school children within the vicinity.
These stationeries were part of her means to assist school going children to combat the novel corona virus pandemic. Some students believed to have their hopes revived by the foresight action of the organization. They were also convinced that, school is still in existence and there is hope of going back to the classroom irrespective of the worsening situation of the corona virus infections.
Parents were much grateful for the kind gestures of the organization. Guardians who benefitted from the nose masks, and bottles of hand sanitizers donated were very delightful to express their gratitude for such a timely intervention of the organization. Teachers who were residents of Subriso but were forced to stay home due to the closure of schools also lauded the team after leading and witnessing the impacts of the organization on the lives of students in their locality.
Aside this, Ahsa Life has also organized a virtual classes for all students from poor homes in the rural areas of Ghana under her inspiration. By so doing, the organization has gifted every student or household within her target group a modern laptop or tablet which will enable them to successfully participate in her virtual classes.
These actions and tremendous impacts, according to the UN Sustainable Development Goals Solidarity Award team, is described as one of “the most heart-warming and impactful initiatives undertaken and implemented in communities around the world to improve people’s lives, inspired resilience and lifted hopes, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”
Consequently, Ahsa Life was selected as one of the 50 finalist with most touching and impactful initiatives executing solidarity and determination to improve others’ lives, inspire resilience, and lift hopes in the face of this crisis.
We are much grateful to the UN SDG Solidarity Award team for such an honorable recognition. We hope this award serves as another arrow in our quiver to improve the good work of the organization for many lives to be positively impacted and inspired across the various rural areas of Ghana.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OURSELVES.
